Hailing from Venezuela where she studied architecture, Coro moved to China in 2011 with a thirst for new challenges. Coro came to Beijing with 8 years experience in commercial and residential building, mainly on high-end projects in Miami, West Palm Beach. In Beijing, Coro practices as an independent architect and specializes in boutique food & beverage commercial projects. “This sector is niche over here. It is very exciting to cooperate with restaurateurs and food & beverage artisans to bring fresh & creative concepts to Beijing; where everything is still at a stage of being written”. Her further specialization in procurement has lead her to uncover and utilize the great procurement channels that Beijing and China offers. She has started to design unique pieces of furniture for her projects and produces them locally. More than an architect, Coro is also an interior designer and florist. Thus she likes to deliver a project fully polished and ready to operate from its construction to its styling. Her main inspiration comes from Spanish architects and the characteristic South American eclectic & colorful style. These are influences that she blends with her signature style: Industrial and earthy yet chic and minimalistic.
Coro’s first undertaking in Beijing was the restaurant group Mosto that comprises of Mosto, MODO Urban Deli and MOKA Bros’ in Sanlitun, Solana, Beijing & Tai Koo Li,Chengdu. The challenge here was to create three distinct restaurant designs yet streaming from the same owners with one strong philosophy. Other projects include the shop Biorck & Co in Indigo Mall; specialty Coffee Shop Ocean Grounds Coffee, the new Concept Restaurant of Gung Ho Pizza in Sanlitun and currently she’s working on a few more projects to come this year 2014
